Johann Sebastian Bach was a famous musician who lived in Germany from 1685 to 1750. He wrote many pieces of music that are still played and enjoyed today.
Bach grew up in a musical family and learned to play the organ when he was young. He became very good at playing music and later worked as a church organist and a musician for royalty.
Bach wrote many different kinds of music, like songs for people to sing together, music for just one instrument, and music for a whole group of musicians to play together. He was great at making all the different parts of the music fit together perfectly.
Bach was very clever with his music and created a "fugue," when different parts play the same melody but start at other times. He was also really good at playing the keyboard. He even invented a new keyboard instrument called the "clavier."
Even though Bach was a great musician, people didn't know how amazing he was until after he died. Now, many people consider him one of the most influential composers ever. His music inspired many other musicians and composers who came after him.
